Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 16 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to cook oatmeal porridge in a microwave oven with milk? Prepare the products. You can take any oat flakes — both instant flakes and those that need to be cooked for a long time. With the latter, the flakes themselves will be more pronounced, and with fast porridge it turns out softer. You can take cow's or goat's milk of any fat content, it all depends on your taste and capabilities. But the higher the fat content of milk, the tastier the porridge will turn out, although it will be more high-calorie.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Take a deep bowl, which is suitable for cooking in a microwave oven, and pour the oat flakes into it. Pour in the water and add salt. Turn on the microwave for 5 minutes at maximum power (I have 1000 watts) and wait for the beep of the end of cooking. If your microwave is less powerful, then increase the cooking time by 2-3 minutes.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Remove the bowl from the microwave oven (carefully, do not get burned!!!) and pour in the milk. Mix well, as the porridge may stick to the bottom and then burn.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Add sugar to taste and mix.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Return the bowl of porridge back to the microwave and turn it on for 3 minutes at maximum power. After the beep of the end of cooking, leave the porridge inside for another 3 minutes.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Take out the bowl of porridge and immediately put it on plates. If desired, add butter. Enjoy your meal!

I think everyone knows that oatmeal is very healthy, especially for breakfast. No wonder the British love her so much. Remember at least the famous detective Sherlock Holmes, who started his day with her. Of course, such porridge cooks quickly, but at the same time you need to constantly keep it in sight so that the milk does not escape from the pan first, and then so that it does not burn.
Oatmeal porridge can be cooked not only with milk, but also simply with water or coconut milk, if you do not use lactose. In addition, porridge can be varied with flavoring additives in the form of berries, fruits, honey or all kinds of syrups and jams. And each time it will have a different, unique taste.

Keep in mind that microwaves don't work the same way. The cooking time and recommended power may differ from those stated in the recipe. Read the instructions for your device and take into account the features of your equipment.

For cooking, it is better to use filtered or bottled water that is neutral to taste. If you use tap water, keep in mind that it can give the dish an unpleasant characteristic taste.

Instead of sugar, you can use a sweetener that is not afraid of heat treatment.
