Classic borscht with pork

A traditional dish of Ukrainian cuisine. Try it, it's delicious! My grandmother lives in Ukraine and cooks a wonderful borscht with pork. So delicious! And very satisfying. I cook according to her recipes, too - it turns out not bad either. Everything is very simple, however, not in 10 minutes, but still - the result is worth the time spent.

Cooking method

Cooking time: 1 h 50 min

The ingredients are indicated based on a three-liter saucepan.

We will thoroughly wash a piece of pork and cook the broth with it, for which we put the meat in a saucepan, pour cold water, add salt and spices: coriander, red pepper, bay leaves. Cook for about an hour, periodically removing the foam.

Meanwhile, while the broth is cooking, let's cook the vegetables:

- peel the onion, finely chop it;

- beets are cleaned, cut into thin strips;

- peel the carrots, also cut into thin strips;

- remove the seeds from the bell pepper, cut into strips;

- peel the potatoes, cut into cubes.

Put the beets in a frying pan with a high side, fry in vegetable oil, then add carrots, onions and bell pepper. Tomato paste is diluted with a small amount of water, poured into the vegetables and stewed until the beetroot is soft.

When the meat has become soft, we remove it from the pan, divide it into fibers. Put the potatoes in the broth, cook until tender - 15-20 minutes. During this time, we will chop the cabbage, add it to the borscht together with vegetable dressing and finely chopped garlic.

Taste the borscht, add sugar and salt, if necessary.

Let it brew for 15 minutes, after which you can serve borscht on the table, adding sour cream to it and sprinkling with chopped dill.
