Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 4 h
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

Prepare products for making jam from apples and oranges. I take seasonal homemade apples, they are sweet in themselves and a little soft. There is only one orange, it is better to choose it with a whole strong skin. If desired, in the process of cooking jam, you can add cinnamon, anise to it. The weight of apples is taken into account in the already sliced form.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Wash the selected apples under running water, dry them, cut off the stems and core. Cut the apples into cubes, the size is optional, I cut them very small so that the apples and orange are the same size. Wash the orange very thoroughly, you can even use soap, dry it and cut it into small cubes (or just like sliced apples). Apples and oranges are cut in the peel and the weight is taken into account already sliced fruit.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Take a deep bowl or saucepan, which is better not oxidized, put sliced apples and an orange in it, cover with sugar, mix. Leave for 1 to 4 hours to let the fruit juice. I left the fruit on the table at room temperature.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

After a while, when the apples and orange will give juice and the sugar will dissolve a little, put them in a saucepan or saucepan.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Put the pan on a small fire and bring to a boil. When the sugar melts, turns into syrup and boils, you can add spices to taste: cinnamon, anise. Then the jam can be cooked in one step over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the desired consistency is obtained. Or in several steps: boil the jam for 5-10 minutes, turn off the fire, cool the jam. Put it on the fire again, and so 2-3 times. I cooked my jam several times.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Cool the finished jam and spread it out in a glass sterilized container, closing with clean lids. Store ready-made jam from apples and oranges in a dark, cool place. The finished jam has a very beautiful color, the aroma of citrus fruits with apples is simply stunning. The jam turns out very tasty.

I really liked the cooked jam. Firstly, the appearance is simply royal, beautiful, amber, sunny color. Secondly, it tastes very interesting, orange plays a very big role in this jam. And, thirdly, it is prepared simply, and there are a lot of options for using this jam: for tea, for bread, to add to pastries, to cottage cheese, etc.
