Pearl porridge on water with butter

A great side dish for dinner for the whole family! Pearl porridge on water will perfectly complement meat or vegetable dishes. Both adults and children will eat such porridge for two cheeks. The only thing you need to calculate the amount of cereals so that you can eat the porridge fresh right away, without leaving it for later. After standing, the pearl barley loses its taste and becomes harsh.

1. In the evening, we pour the cereal into a bowl, fill it with water and leave it overnight.

2. In the morning, we throw the cereal into a colander, rinse it under running water.

3. And now we put the pearl barley in a saucepan, fill it with water, add salt and send it to the fire.

4. Cook the porridge for 50 minutes, then cover with a lid, wrap with a towel and leave to steam for another half hour.

We fill the finished porridge with butter and serve it on the table.
