I've only heard or read about lentils before. I've never cooked. And once I saw her in the market with my own eyes. I got interested – and why not cook this food for me? I called my friends – is there any adequate culinary recipe to be tried. No one cooks, no. And I went on the Internet to look, I found it! I just like to cook something unusual, because when I came across this recipe for smoked bacon soup with lentils, I couldn't pass it by. I cooked it, and I didn't regret it. a terribly satisfying soup, and it would be better to cook it with whole lentils, which are greenish-brown in color and which does not need pre-soaking.

So, to cook portions 4-6, heat the oil in a large saucepan, fry the bacon on it – until the fat flows from it. Then add the prepared vegetables – onions, carrots and celery, and fry them over high heat, stirring so that everything has time to fry. Then add the lentils - washed and drained, as well as a jar of tomatoes. Then put the garlic here and pour out the broth.

As soon as the broth boils, cover the pan with a lid, reduce the heat and cook for about an hour. Add the cabbage about 15 minutes before it is ready. If you want, season it – I love it. Before serving, add parsley.
