Casserole with broccoli and chicken

Not only healthy, but also unexpectedly delicious dish! Thanks to cream and vegetables, the meat turns out juicy and satisfying, and on top — an appetizing baked cheese crust. It is better not to replace leeks with anything, as it perfectly shades all the ingredients in this dish and gives a piquant flavor.

Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 40 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

To prepare a casserole with broccoli and chicken in the oven, take a chicken fillet, a small head of broccoli or a frozen version of broccoli, leeks, a glass of cream 20% (you can also 10%), a piece of hard cheese, salt and any spices (for me, it's just black ground pepper).

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Disassemble the broccoli into inflorescences and boil in boiling salted water until half cooked. I usually cook for about 5 minutes, as I don't like very boiled broccoli. Do the same if you use frozen broccoli.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Drain the water and cool the broccoli a little. Then cut each inflorescence of boiled broccoli into two or three more parts.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Cut the fillet into small pieces.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Wash the leek well (since the ground in which it grew may remain between the feathers of the onion), cut into half rings. It is better to use only the white part of the leek and a small part of the green. Greens are usually tough and tasteless.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Pour a little vegetable oil into a preheated frying pan and fry the chicken breasts for a couple of minutes, then add the chopped leeks.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Fry for about five minutes, salt and pepper to taste. At this stage, you can add any of your favorite spices.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Put the fried meat with leeks in a baking dish or on a baking sheet.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

Spread the prepared broccoli cabbage on top.

  10. Step 10:

    Step 10.

Pour all the cream and sprinkle with grated cheese on a fine grater. You can first mix cheese and cream in a separate bowl, pour cheese sauce over chicken with broccoli.

  11. Step 11:

    Step 11.

Put the broccoli and chicken in the oven. Bake for 25 minutes at 180 degrees until golden cheese crust. The baking time may vary slightly, it depends on your oven. You can navigate by the color of the cheese crust, if it is golden - the dish is ready (since we initially use ready-made ingredients, nothing will be raw and not baked).

It is very tasty and satisfying. The dish will appeal even to those who do not like broccoli!
Bon appetit!
