Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 1 h 20 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to make potatoes with bacon in a tandoor? Prepare all the products according to the list. Potatoes for the recipe take about the same not very large size.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Wash and dry the potatoes very well. We will cook it in the peel, and therefore it is better to use a brush when washing. Put the potatoes in a deep bowl or saucepan. Peel and rinse the onion and garlic.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Cut large potatoes in half. Add salt to taste and your favorite dry spices. I usually use a mixture of ground peppers and Provencal herbs.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Add vegetable oil and mix everything thoroughly.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Make some kind of boats or plates with high edges out of foil. Make several layers of foil so that the plate holds its shape well. At the bottom of the plate, put an even thin layer of onion, chopped not very large. You can cut it into rings, half rings or cubes, as you like.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Cut the fat into thin plates, put it on top of the onion. Which fat is better to use? A simple salted or smoked lard will do well. Chop the garlic by hand or pass it through a press. Send it to salu.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Next layer make finely chopped greens.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Lay out the potatoes in one even layer.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

In the recipe for baking, a two-story grate was used, so I made two plates with potatoes. Between the tubers, you can put whole unpeeled garlic cloves if desired.

  10. Step 10:

    Step 10.

    Light up the tandoor.

  11. Step 11:

    Step 11.

Wait until the firewood and coals burn out.

  12. Step 12:

    Step 12.

Put the plates with potatoes on the grill.

  13. Step 13:

    Step 13.

Send to the tandoor, cover with a lid. Bake until the potatoes are ready. Readiness can be checked with a toothpick. If the potatoes are easily pierced, then the dish is ready.

  14. Step 14:

    Step 14.

The baking time depends on the amount of coals in the tandoor, on the model of the tandoor itself and on the size of the potatoes. On average, potatoes are baked for about 30-50 minutes. A stunning aroma can be felt within 10-15 minutes after the start of cooking.

Serve potatoes hot with fresh vegetables, salads and sauces.
Incredibly delicious, be sure to try it!

Bon appetit!

If you use ready-made spice mixes, be sure to read the composition on the package. Often, salt is already present in such mixtures, take this into account, otherwise you risk over-salting the dish.

Since the degree of salinity, sweetness, bitterness, sharpness, acid, burning is individual for everyone, always add spices, spices and seasonings, focusing on your taste! If you put some of the seasonings for the first time, then keep in mind that there are spices that it is especially important not to shift (for example, chili pepper).
