Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 10 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to cook matcha latte? Very simple! First, prepare the necessary ingredients. Take fatter milk, the finished drink will only benefit from this. I had milk with a fat content of about 6%. Since the water for the drink will not be brought to a boil, then immediately take clean drinking water. Take any sugar and add it to taste. I took cane sugar and added 1 tsp for 2 servings. Sugar can be replaced with honey.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Pour the milk into a saucepan and put it on a slow fire. Heat up to 80°C. Stir occasionally so that the milk does not burn from the bottom.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Pour water into another saucepan and also heat over medium heat to 80 °C. To heat the water and milk to the desired temperature and not overheat, use a cooking thermometer.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

While the water and milk are heating up in a bowl (or a special bowl for matcha), mix the matcha powder and sugar.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Pour the water heated to the desired temperature into the bowl and whisk everything with a whisk or a special bamboo pestle until the tea powder and sugar completely dissolve. Matcha powder is sold in different quality: regular, premium, the color of the powder can also vary from delicate light green to dark emerald. The final color of your drink will depend on the color of your powder.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Pour the resulting tea mixture into cups or special glasses with handles. I poured it into ordinary thin glass cups, as the tea mixture has time to cool down a little during whipping.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Beat the milk heated to the desired temperature with an immersion blender or cappuccino maker until a fluffy foam appears. If you are whipping with an immersion blender, I advise you to pour the milk into a special high glass for whipping, because in a lower container the milk will spray heavily and instead of enjoying a delicious drink you will have to wash the kitchen. You can also use a stationary blender.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Add the whipped milk to the glasses with matcha tea and spoon out the remains of the milk foam. Matcha latte is ready. Immediately serve the drink to the table while it is warm. In cold form, by the way, it is also very tasty. Bon appetit!

If the drink is standing for a long time, the heavier green tea sediment sinks to the bottom and the latte is clearly divided into three parts: bright green tea, pale green milk and white-green foam. It turns out very beautifully and effectively. To mix all the layers, you just need to mix the drink with a spoon.
