  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Sift flour into a deep bowl, add salt and break a chicken egg. Mix everything together. The dough will be dumplings, if you already have your own recipe, then you can cook according to it. Sometimes vegetable oil is added to the dough for elasticity, this is a wish.

    Step 3.

Pour warm water in parts and mix. Knead the dough and leave it on the table for a few minutes. The dough should be elastic, not sticking to the hands. You may take more or less flour than I do. Be guided by the consistency of the dough.

    Step 6.

Knead the dough, put the dough on a flour-dusted table and roll out into a thin cake. The thickness of the dough is for the taste of your family. I expect that children will try my Georgians, so I do not make the dough very thin, as they like.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Spread the minced meat and onion evenly on the tortilla.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Roll the flatbread with minced meat into a roll and cut into small rolls, 2-3 cm thick.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

Put the sliced meat rolls in a frying pan with fried vegetables, filling up.

  10. Step 10:

    Step 10.

Dilute tomato paste with water, about 2/3 - 1 cup, add salt, pepper and pour this sauce over the rolls. Put the frying pan on a small fire. If desired, you can add a bay leaf. Simmer the Georgians until cooked for 15-20 minutes.

  11. Step 11:

    Step 11.

Serve the finished dish hot, putting 1-2 meat rolls in a plate and pouring sauce with vegetables.

I could not find the origin of this dish. It hardly belongs to Georgian cuisine. Maybe such a dish was born at the same time from several housewives, so it is difficult to find authorship. But nevertheless, the dish is quite common. It is understandable, everything is prepared much faster than, for example, the same dumplings with their modeling. And the taste is very close to them. Many even simply fry them in a frying pan, and not stew them. Although my household dumplings turned out to be kinder.

Be prepared for the fact that you may need more or less flour than indicated in the recipe. Focus not on the amount of flour, but on the desired consistency of the dough. To avoid mistakes, read about flour and its properties!
