Chicken Liver Pies

Original pies. Prepare a treat for your family with liver and spices! Lately I like to experiment with different types of flour. I really liked the version of this dough - with wheat and rye flour. It tastes and looks unusual, but appetizing - very! Relatives and colleagues appreciated it. The filling was also to my taste - a very harmonious combination of herbs and spices. In general, this recipe has taken root in my cookbook, and has spread among friends. I share it with you :)

Cooking method

Cooking time: 2 h 45 min

1. Pour the milk from a bowl, it should be warm - about 40 degrees.
2. Pour yeast into the milk, stir. Put the bowl in a warm place.
3. Wash and dry the chicken liver. There is no need to cut it.
4. Peel the onion, cut it into thin half rings.
5. Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan. Fry the onion in it for a few minutes.
6. Add the liver to the onion, fry until tender.
7. Five minutes before cooking, sprinkle the contents of the pan with salt. Put the spices: paprika, oregano, hops-suneli. Mix everything together.
8. Let the finished liver cool down, and at this time prepare the greens: wash and dry the dill, parsley, green onions.
9. Chop the liver and greens.
10. Sift flour (both types) into a large and wide container, mix it with salt and sugar.
11. Break the eggs into the flour mixture, pour in vegetable oil, as well as milk with yeast. Knead the dough.
12. Knead the dough thoroughly so that it becomes homogeneous, soft and obedient. Let him rest for half an hour.
13. Now the dough needs to be kneaded well again and let it lie down for half an hour again.
14. Divide the dough into parts, rolling balls from each. Try to keep them about the same size.
15. Roll out the balls into tortillas, in the center of which you need to put the filling. Pinch the dough by folding the opposite edges of the tortillas.
16. Put the future pies on a baking sheet greased with vegetable oil. Let the formed pies come up for 20 minutes.
17. Melt the butter, spread it on top of the pies.
18. Place the baking sheet in a preheated 180 degree oven. Bake the pies for 15-20 minutes (until cooked).

Such pies are delicious both hot and cold. But it is better to serve them warm.

Bon appetit!
