Italian rum woman

Italian rum baba is a simple recipe for exquisite sweetness. It turns out that this dessert familiar to us from childhood is not so simple! Chefs from different European countries have not only been baking these fragrant buns for a long time, but also arguing about the origin of this wonderful delicacy. I really love the Italian version of cooking this pastry. Try it and you!

Cooking method

Cooking time: 3 h 20 min

Stage 1

Prepare a thick sourdough: stir the yeast with warm milk to a homogeneous consistency, add a third of the flour and knead so that there are no lumps left.

Send the thick sponge under the film for 40-45 minutes.

Stage 2

Mix sugar into the dough-sponge. Beat the eggs with a whisk and knead with sourdough - this is most convenient to do with a mixer with nozzles for kneading dough. Next, add salt and the rest of the flour, mix thoroughly, put soft butter and stir again until smooth, homogeneous consistency.

Tighten the bowl with the dough with a film and send it to a warm place for 60 minutes - the dough should increase in volume by 2.5-3 times.

Stage 3.

Fill the molds with 1/2 volume of dough (pre-lubricate the iron molds with butter). Cover the molds with a film so that the dough grows and fills the molds completely.

Stage 4.

Bake the buns in a preheated 180 degree oven until golden brown. It will take 15-20 minutes.

Stage 5.

Prepare a syrup of water, rum and sugar.

Stage 7.

Dip hot buns in syrup so that they are soaked from all sides. Then put it on the grill so that the excess syrup "leaves".

Serve Italian rum women hot or cold, pouring cream (the delicacy is very sweet, so fudge is completely optional, cream is more suitable).

Bon appetit!
