Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 1 h
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to bake chicken with potatoes in a slow cooker? Prepare the products. You can take any part of the chicken, or you can chop the whole carcass into pieces. I will use chicken thighs. Rinse the meat under running water and dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture. Peel the onion and potatoes and rinse them from dirt.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Chop the onion not too finely. Pour a little vegetable oil into the bowl of the slow cooker and put the chopped onion.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Cut the chicken thighs into 2 parts each and put them in a bowl of a slow cooker. Sprinkle with salt and spices. As spices, I recommend ground black pepper and a little paprika. But in general, you can take your favorites to taste.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Cut the peeled potatoes into large pieces and also send them to the bowl. Put the bowl with the prepared dish in the slow cooker, cover it with a lid and turn on the Baking mode" for 40 minutes. If you do not have such a function, then choose another suitable mode. After 15 minutes of cooking, open the lid, pour hot water and mix everything. Leave the dish to cook for the remaining time. After the beep, do not open the bowl immediately, but let it stand for another 15 minutes.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

If you have a "Preheating" mode, then leave the dish to sweat on it. This is what it takes for the dish to reach a little. Put the finished chicken and potatoes on plates and serve to the table. The finished dish can be sprinkled with fresh herbs a little. Bon appetit!

If you plan to cook a larger dish, then it may take a little more time to prepare it.
If you want to get chicken meat with a crust, then you can pre-fry it even in a slow cooker, even in a frying pan.

For this recipe, it is better to take not frozen, but fresh meat, otherwise the finished meat risks getting dry.

Keep in mind that the cooking time and mode are indicated approximately in the recipe. All slow cookers work differently and even the same models of the same manufacturer may have their own characteristics. Before you start cooking a new dish for you in a slow cooker, carefully study the instructions for it, and then in practice try to cook dishes that are familiar to you first, and then new ones, choosing the mode and time individually for your own technique.

Chicken can be replaced with turkey or any other type of meat at your request. But keep in mind that in this case, the cooking time and calorie content of the dish will change.
