Lemon tincture

If you are a lover of sweet and sour drinks, then this is just for you! Once I had a couple of lemons lying around at home. I didn't know what to do with them, but it was a pity to throw them away, that's where I decided to make a tincture of them.

First of all, you need to wash the lemon well with a brush to remove the film, I cover the fruits with it for safety - this is very important, since I do not recommend using paraffin or wax in alcohol. The ideal option for a recipe is to take a homemade lemon, if there is of course.
Next we need a needle, a thread made of natural material, a stainless steel wire or a toothpick. We pierce the lemon from above with a needle and thread, fix the thread. Pour alcohol into a liter jar, hang the lemon on a thread over the alcohol with a thread and wire, the lemon should not touch alcohol, close the jar and leave it in a dark place for 7-14 days.
Over time, the alcohol will begin to “pull out” the aromatic component of the lemon, the liquid will become yellowish in color. After 4-5 days of infusion, you can try lemon tincture, thereby deciding for yourself how much time it takes for the infusion.
I personally insisted for 14 days, then I drained the infusion, filtered it, mixed it with water, thereby the lemon tincture became cloudy, which is explained by the opalescence effect. If desired, honey or fructose can be added to the tincture to soften, 2-3 tablespoons of lemon juice will also be useful. I left the lemon tincture to rest for another couple of days, during which time it became more transparent, but still with a slight turbidity.
