Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 10 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to make a salad with shrimp, squid and red caviar? Prepare the products. Squid can be used already peeled without skin or with skin. If you use unpeeled squid, you must first remove the skin from them and remove the insides. Be sure to remove the chitin plates.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Boil the squid. How to boil squid? Boil water in a saucepan and put the prepared squid carcasses into boiling water. Boil them for two minutes after re-boiling. Do not cook longer, they will become stiff, rubbery and tasteless. Drain the water and put the meat to cool.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Pre-defrost the shrimp and remove the intestine, which looks like a dark green tube running along the entire back of the shrimp. Mine were immediately cleaned. But if it is not removed by the manufacturer, then you need to slightly cut the shrimp on the back and be sure to remove the intestine.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Boil the shrimp. How to boil shrimp? Throw them into salted boiling water with bay leaf and cook for two minutes after re-boiling. Just like squid, shrimps become rubbery from long cooking. Drain the water, remove the bay leaf.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Chop the cooled squid carcasses with medium-sized straws.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

The last step is to assemble the salad in portioned salad bowls, mixing shrimp, squid and red caviar. Add salt to taste, if necessary, and season with a drop of mayonnaise. Homemade mayonnaise is perfect here. Garnish the salad with fresh parsley. The salad is ready to serve. Bon appetit!

Don't be confused by such a short time of heat treatment of squid. This time will be quite enough for him. Moreover, its peculiarity is that the longer it cooks, the tougher its meat becomes.
Shrimp can be cut in half, but I didn't do it. I prefer to contemplate a whole beautiful shrimp.
But if you want to achieve a more or less uniform slicing, then you can simply use smaller shrimp instead of royal ones.
I recommend preparing such a salad immediately before the arrival of guests. And fill with mayonnaise right before serving.

Prepare salads only from fully chilled foods. Cooked from warm, the salad can quickly deteriorate.

It is better to prepare mayonnaise yourself. It will be tastier and healthier. See the interesting ones here recipes for homemade mayonnaise.
Also, as a dressing, you can use not only mayonnaise, but also sour cream or natural yogurt. They can be taken separately or mixed with mayonnaise in any proportion to your taste - this will reduce the calorie content of the dish.

The salad will look nice and neat if you cut all the ingredients into pieces of the same size and shape (for example, cubes).
