Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 1 h
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

We will make a liver cake with a layer of stewed vegetables: carrots and onions. I took three carrots and three onions. Peel and grate the carrots. The bulbs are also cleaned and finely cut. Then put the vegetables in the pan, salt and simmer until tender. When stewing, you can add a couple of tablespoons of vegetable oil or a small piece of butter. But remember that this will increase the calorie content of the dish. But the taste of vegetables will become more saturated.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

While the vegetables are stewing, let's prepare the dough. Chicken liver is washed under cold running water. Then we leave it in a colander for a while to drain excess water. We put the liver in the bowl of a blender and grind it.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Then add two eggs and two spoons of sour cream. Salt. Mix with a blender.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Pour the resulting mixture into a deep bowl. Pour half a cup of flour. Stir until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. The dough should turn out thick, about like pancakes. If it turned out to be very thick, then it can be diluted with milk or water. If it turned out to be liquid, then add a little flour.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Pour a little vegetable oil into a preheated frying pan. It is better to use a non-stick frying pan. On it, the oil consumption is less, which means that the calorie content of the dish is less. Then pour the liver dough with a ladle. Fry the cakes on both sides. They bake fast enough – literally 1.5 – 2 minutes on each side.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

We lay out a stack of ready-made cakes. Let them cool down a little. I got 12 cakes with a diameter of about 13-14 cm.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Peel two cloves of garlic, pass them through a garlic press and mix with 100 grams of mayonnaise. We lubricate the cake with the resulting mixture.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Then spread about a couple of tablespoons of stewed vegetables on top. Evenly distribute them over the entire surface of the cake.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

Spread the next cake on top of the cake with vegetables. It is also lubricated with mayonnaise with garlic. Then again a layer of vegetables.

  10. Step 10:

    Step 10.

We do this with all the cakes. At the very end, you can press down the cakes a little. But do it carefully. Decorate the top of the cake with chopped greens. You can decorate with grated cheese or grate a boiled egg. Liver cake belongs to the category of cold snacks, so it is advisable to let it stand to soak for at least a couple of hours.

Options for the layer of cakes:
- mayonnaise with garlic without vegetables
- mayonnaise, garlic, cottage cheese and stewed vegetables (onion, carrot, zucchini)
- mayonnaise with fried mushrooms and fried chopped walnuts
- carrots in Korean. For convenience, it can be crushed in a blender
- stewed eggplant with tomatoes
- cottage cheese with sour cream

Mayonnaise is better to cook yourself. It will be tastier and healthier. See here interesting recipes for homemade mayonnaise.
Also, as a dressing, you can use not only mayonnaise, but also sour cream or natural yogurt. They can be taken separately or mixed with mayonnaise in any proportion to your taste - this will reduce the calorie content of the dish.
