  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to stew cabbage with rice in a frying pan? Rice is washed in five waters until transparent. I took round-grained rice, as it is perfect for this recipe. By the way, rice can be left in water after washing until it is needed. That's what I usually do.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Peel the carrots and three on a coarse grater. Peel the onion from the husk and chop it.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Chop the cabbage as thinly as possible.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Pour vegetable oil into a frying pan and calcine for a couple of minutes. Spread the chopped onion and fry it until transparent over medium heat while stirring. Fry for about 2 minutes.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

When the onion is a little tired, add the carrots to the pan and simmer over moderate heat for 5 minutes. Do not forget to stir.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Squeeze the cabbage with your fingers so that it gives juice, and put it in a frying pan with carrots and onions. Add salt to taste, simmer the vegetables over moderate heat for 10 minutes while stirring. I didn't cover the pan with a lid.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Tomato paste is diluted in half a glass of water. Pour it into the pan. We also send the washed rice there. Instead of tomato paste, you can take tomato juice.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

At this stage, add more salt so that the rice does not turn out bland. Mix everything well.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

Pour hot water into the pan, which we will need to steam the rice.

  10. Step 10:

    Step 10.

Simmer cabbage with rice over low heat until cooked with periodic stirring, the pan needs to be covered with a lid. The approximate extinguishing time is 20-25 minutes. Do not forget that after switching off, the rice will reach a little. I didn't pour any more water so that the dish wouldn't turn out watery. Before turning off the dish, you need to try it again for salt and adjust it if necessary.

If you like stewed cabbage, then you will definitely like this dish. Here it goes in combination with rice. The rice is put raw, it does not need to be boiled in advance, which significantly reduces the cooking time. Already in the finished cabbage, you can add finely chopped fresh dill or parsley. With such a dish, a delicious lunch is provided for you!
