Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 10 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

Wash the eggs and put them in a bowl. Add sugar and a pinch of salt. Salt should be added in order to make the taste of toast more vivid, but this ingredient is not mandatory at all.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Beat the mixture thoroughly with a fork or whisk until air bubbles appear. It took me about two minutes at this stage.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Pour the milk into the egg mixture and mix the mixture thoroughly again for a couple of minutes.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Cut white bread into one and a half centimeter thick slices. By the way, it is believed that if you cook from dried bread of yesterday's freshness, the toast will turn out even tastier!

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Heat a small frying pan over high heat. Then reduce the heat to medium and melt the butter in a frying pan. Dip the bread in the egg mixture from all sides and immediately put it to fry for two to three minutes. Periodically, it is worth raising a toast and watching the color. Since there is sugar in the egg mixture, toast can burn quickly if the fire is too strong.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

As soon as the toast is toasted, turn them over to the other side and fry for another two minutes. Serve hot.

The specified amount of egg mixture was enough for me for nine large slices of bread. But it will depend on which chicken eggs will be used: category C2 or C0. The reason lies in the size and weight of the eggs themselves.
I got a very simple, budget-friendly and homely dish. I don't know if anyone will be able to remain indifferent to them?
After all, such toasts will be perfectly combined with butter, jam, or jam, condensed milk and whipped cream. There are a lot of options! Therefore, everyone will be able to find a sweet addition to their liking.
Toasts are prepared very quickly. Literally, while the morning coffee is being prepared, you can already have time to fry them.
Previously, such toasts were frequent guests on our table. And they seemed especially delicious to me at my grandmother's backyard. Only she did not call this dish "French toast", but "Poor Knight".
But over time, the dish somehow got forgotten... And it's good that I remembered about this recipe! After all, my family enjoyed these sweet toasts with pleasure. By the way, when roasting, unbearably appetizing aromas come from the kitchen - you'll lick your fingers!
Bon appetit.
