Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 40 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to make waffle cakes with minced meat? Prepare all the ingredients from the specified list. Minced meat is best used fresh, so that in the end it is more dense. After defrosting, the minced meat becomes watery. Waffle cakes are suitable for any shape: round, square, rectangular. Supermarkets sell portion cakes that do not need to be cut. Use refined vegetable oil.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Peel, rinse and dry the onion with a napkin. Cut it into small pieces. If the minced meat is quite dense, the onion can be chopped in a meat grinder or in a blender. In this case, the onion juice will make the minced meat a little moist.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

I prefer to cook minced meat on my own. For this purpose, I bought a chilled chicken fillet and chopped it in a meat grinder. Pork, beef, poultry are suitable for meat filling. You can cook mixed minced meat. Add chopped onion, salt and ground black pepper to the minced meat. Mix well.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Put a portion of meat filling on the first waffle cake (diameter 22 cm) and spread it in a thin layer all over the cake. It took me 2.5 tablespoons with a slide of filling for one cake.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Put the second cake on top and press it down slightly with your hand. Add the meat filling and spread it in a thin layer.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Attach the third cake. Press down a little with your hands so that it fits snugly to the layer of minced meat. At this stage, I wanted to finish assembling the cake, because I was worried that it would not fry, but I decided to take a chance, since its height turned out to be very small and besides, I still had meat filling and waffle cakes.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Put the meat filling on the third cake and spread it with a spoon in a thin layer.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Attach and slightly press down the fourth waffle cake. Lay out the remaining filling, just 2.5 tablespoons left. Smooth it out with a thin layer.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

Attach the fifth waffle cake, lightly press down with the palm of your hand. It took me 5 pieces from the factory packaging (7 cakes). Cut the assembled waffle cake into portions. I got 8 pieces.

  10. Step 10:

    Step 10.

Now it's time to make the batter. Beat medium-sized eggs into a deep dish. Pour in the water. Add salt to taste. Shake with a fork until smooth. This amount of eggs is just enough to fry all the blanks.

  11. Step 11:

    Step 11.

Dip a waffle piece in the batter. Help yourself with a fork, as the workpiece becomes soft under the influence of moisture of minced meat.

  12. Step 12:

    Step 12.

5-7 minutes before frying, pour the oil into the pan and send it to medium heat. Warm it up. When the oil is well heated, reduce the flame to the smallest. Lay out the waffle blanks. Cover with a lid. Fry for 4-5 minutes until golden brown on one side. Since everyone has different dishes and appliances, make sure that the blanks do not burn. You may need a little more or less time for the pieces to brown.

  13. Step 13:

    Step 13.

Flip the waffle pieces to the second side. Cover with a lid and continue to fry for 4-5 minutes on the lowest heat.

  14. Step 14:

    Step 14.

After frying, place on paper towels to remove any remaining oil.

  15. Step 15:

    Step 15.

Waffle cakes with minced meat in a frying pan are ready. Bon appetit!

Waffle cakes with minced meat can be served to the table, both warm and cold.

It's delicious to eat on your own or with a suitable sauce, for example, sour cream, ketchup, sweet and sour sauces.

It is convenient to take waffle slices with you on a picnic, work, on the road as a hearty snack.

You can check whether the oil has warmed up well enough in a frying pan in a simple way. Lower a wooden spatula into it. If bubbles have gathered around it, then you can start the frying process.

Use oil with a high smoking temperature for frying! Any oils are useful only until a certain temperature is reached - the point of smoking, at which the oil begins to burn and toxic substances, including carcinogens, are formed in it.
Unrefined oils, with rare exceptions, have a low smoking point. There are a lot of unfiltered organic particles in them, which quickly begin to burn.
Refined oils are more resistant to heating, and their smoking point is higher. If you are going to cook food in the oven, on a frying pan or grill, make sure that you use oil with a high smoking point. The most common of the oils with a high smoking point: refined varieties of sunflower, olive and grape.
