Cooking time: 20 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to make mackerel with onions in a frying pan? Prepare the necessary ingredients for this. Choose any spices to your liking. I use ready-made spices specifically for fish.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

For cooking, mackerel must be prepared. To do this, cut off the head and tail. Make a longitudinal incision and remove all the insides, carefully removing the black film. Then rinse the fish carcass well in running water and dry it with paper towels to remove excess water from it. Cut the fish into pieces 2-3 cm thick .

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

In a separate bowl, mix the flour with salt and spices. Roll each piece of fish in the resulting flour mixture from all sides.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Peel the onion separately, rinse it and cut it into half rings or a little smaller.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Pour a little vegetable oil into a hot frying pan and put the fish rolled in flour. Fry the fish on each side for 2-3 minutes. It will become a little golden in color.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Then add the chopped onion to the fish pan. Distribute it evenly between the fish pieces. Fry the fish together with the onion for a couple of minutes.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Cover the pan with a lid and hold for another 2-3 minutes so that the fish and onion are soaked in each other's aroma.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Delicious and fragrant mackerel with onions is ready! Put the fish on a plate and serve to the table, supplemented with fresh vegetables. Bon appetit!

Since the degree of salinity, sweetness, bitterness, sharpness, acid, burning is individual for everyone, always add spices, spices and seasonings, focusing on your taste! If you put some of the seasonings for the first time, then keep in mind that there are spices that it is especially important not to shift (for example, chili pepper).

To check whether the oil has warmed up well enough in the pan, you can do it in a simple way. Lower a wooden spatula into it. If bubbles have gathered around it, then you can start the frying process.

Important! An incorrectly selected frying pan can ruin even the best recipe. All the details on how to choose the perfect frying pan for different dishes read here .
