Beef with prunes in a frying pan

Juicy beef with prunes in a fragrant sauce. There are culinary combinations that perfectly complement each other. Beef and prunes are one such example. Delicious juicy beef and sweet prunes, which have given their most appetizing juices to the sauce, will not leave anyone indifferent. The meat is not cooked quickly, but the result is a delicious aromatic dish that you will cook more than once. As a result of a long stewing, the meat breaks down into fibers and turns out to be very tender.

Cooking method

Cooking time: 1 h 40 min

To prepare beef with prunes, prepare the necessary ingredients. Wash the meat, remove the films and streaks. Wash the prunes. Peel the onion.

Cut the meat into large chunks (so it will be more juicy). Put the meat on the oil heated in a frying pan and fry until golden brown. The meat should be laid in one layer so that each piece is fried.

Add the onion cut into half rings to the fried meat and fry for another 3-4 minutes.

Add tomato sauce, salt and pepper to taste. Mix everything together and pour in water. Cover the meat with a lid and simmer for 30-40 minutes.

Next, add the prunes cut into halves and simmer until the beef is ready. Meat at the end of cooking should break down into fibers, and the liquid thicken. If necessary, you can top up the water. The time will depend on the meat - the older the meat, the longer it may take to cook it.

Boiled potatoes, rice, vegetables, pasta will be suitable as a side dish.
