    Step 1.

How to make a lazy chicken in the oven? Prepare the products. Take chicken drumsticks or any other chicken parts to your taste. I use steamed rice, it turns out crumbly. But in general, any kind of rice will do. Broth (meat or vegetable) can be replaced with plain water.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Peel the carrots and cut them into circles. Keep in mind that the final result in this dish also depends on how you chop the carrots: grated carrots will turn into mush during heat treatment and mix evenly with the rest of the ingredients, cut into strips or cubes will retain their shape.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Wash and dry the chicken drumsticks. Sprinkle with spices to taste, salt and pepper. Mix it up.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Pick the rice and rinse thoroughly in running water. Put the rice in a deep greased baking dish with vegetable oil.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Arrange carrot circles on top. Add salt and pepper to a layer of rice and carrots.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Spread the chicken drumsticks on top.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Pour the rice with chicken broth. The broth can be used natural, left over from cooking meat or vegetables. Or you can dilute the dry broth mixture in boiling water. It is advisable to prepare the broth in advance to taste it for salt and determine how much to salt the ham and rice. It is possible that additional salt will not be needed at all.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Cover the mold with foil and put it in a preheated 180 ° C oven for 1.5 hours. If the broth evaporates during this time, add a little more hot water to the mold. If you need a golden crust on the chicken, then remove the foil from the mold and bake the dish for about 20 minutes more. Remove the finished dish from the oven and serve it to the table. Enjoy your meal!

There are a lot of "lazy chicken" recipes. In some, the chicken is baked whole, simply salted and peppered, in others it is baked with a side dish: potatoes or rice. More often it is shins or hams with rice. That's why I chose the most common option. I've never cooked chicken like that. And I really liked the result. Rice is soaked in broth and chicken juice. And in the end, everything together turns out to be similar to pilaf with chicken, only without pre-roasting chicken meat.

In addition to the shins, you can use whole hams, chicken fillet. If the chicken is not big, you can cut it in half lengthwise and bake the resulting half.

According to the same recipe, chicken with rice and carrots can be cooked in a saucepan on the stove. Cook over low heat under a lid.

In addition to carrots, you can add onions, bell peppers and green peas.
