Mussels in the oven in cream sauce

A noble dish for seafood lovers! Mussels baked in the oven in a creamy sauce are a triumph of sophistication and taste. As spices, you can choose ground dried basil or saffron. An important point is that you need to choose a baking dish of such a size that the mussels can be placed in one layer, and in general you can bake not only in a large form, but also in serving pots.

1. Thaw the mussels at room temperature, wash them under running water, and throw them into a colander.

2. Preheat the pan over the fire, pour olive oil, and when it warms up, add butter.

3. Peel the onion, chop it with a knife as small as possible, fry it in a mixture of oils to a golden hue.

4. Pour cream into the finished onion, bring to a boil, but do not boil so that the cream does not curdle.

5. In the hot cream sauce, add garlic, salt and spices passed through the press, mix and remove from heat.

6. We put the mussels in a baking dish, pour the sauce, sprinkle with grated cheese, send them to the oven preheated to 180 degrees, bake for 20 minutes.

We serve it on the table with a side dish of rice or on our own, as an appetizer to a glass of wine or champagne.
