Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 1 h
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

Prepare the specified ingredients for cooking lean apple charlotte. It is better to sift the flour in advance. Sugar can be taken white or brown. Vegetable oil is odorless. I made orange juice from two oranges, you can take the purchased one, but without sugar. I also used freshly prepared lemon juice. The soda will need to be dissolved in two tablespoons of boiled water.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Prepare the baking dish. You can cover it with special parchment (choose a trusted manufacturer so that the pie can then be easily removed from the mold), you can grease it with oil and sprinkle with breadcrumbs or semolina. Wash the apples, peel (or not peel), cut into slices and put them on the bottom of the mold (they should completely cover the bottom of the mold).

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

In a deep bowl, mix sugar, orange juice, lemon juice, salt and vegetable oil. Mix everything thoroughly with a mixer or whisk until the sugar and salt crystals dissolve.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Add the sifted flour to the liquid mixture and mix thoroughly until you get a homogeneous dough without lumps.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Add soda dissolved in two tablespoons of water to the dough and mix quickly with a whisk. The dough begins to increase slightly in volume, bubble.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Put the dough in a baking dish, on top of the apples. Flatten the dough in the mold and put it in a preheated 190 degree oven for 1 hour. If during baking the top begins to brown strongly, it is better to cover the pie with foil.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Check the readiness of the apple charlotte with a wooden skewer - if it comes out dry from the middle of the pie, then the pie is ready. Turn off the oven and leave the finished lean charlotte to cool in it for about an hour. Take the finished cake out of the mold, turn it upside down on a plate with apples, sprinkle with powdered sugar.

When preparing the pie, I used the weight measures that were indicated in the recipe source. Unfortunately, there was no glass there and I used 200 ml. Later I weighed it, but it's probably better to use the scale measure as it is - that is, flour 1 cup and 3/4 cup, orange juice 3/4 cup, sugar 3/4 cup.
