This is an ancient drink of our ancestors, which has pleased and inspired the Slavs for centuries. The main ingredient of the drink is honey, and the rest of the ingredients already depended on the owners preparing this intoxicating drink. And although the traditional classic mead recipe included only 4 ingredients, experienced housewives complemented its honey taste with berries or fruits, tea or herbal infusions.

In addition to the ingredients from the cooking list, you will need:

- enameled or stainless pan;
- glass jar or bottle for ripening;
- gauze for straining;
- special "wine" lid or rubber glove;
- a warm place for aging;
- glass container for storing the finished product.

1. We dilute water with honey in a prepared saucepan, add hops and bring the mixture to a boil over low heat. Cook for two hours.
Important! If the water boils, it needs to be topped up during cooking.
2. The resulting honey base is allowed to cool to a temperature of 40 degrees, after that we filter it into a prepared glass container, add yeast. We close the neck with a lid (or glove) and leave it to wander in a warm place for 17-21 days.
4. After the above time, the drink is already quite intoxicating - it can be filtered and poured into small bottles with ordinary stoppers. If you can't wait at all, then you can already try it, but to get a more refined taste, it is advisable to leave the mead to settle in a cool place for another three weeks.

It is recommended to serve this drink to the table chilled!
