When I first tried this salad, I was surprised to hear its name. After all, when I tasted it, it reminded me a lot of other food. We are talking about the salad "Olivier", which is no less well-known to many. Of course, I couldn't resist and asked the hospitable hostess to share this culinary recipe with me. Imagine my surprise when I saw the ingredients from olivier included in the winter salad recipe, which made it very much like him.

I must say that the salad, which is prepared easily and for a short time, is one of the most favorite in our region. Probably, this is because it evokes pleasant associations – happy New Year, and, of course, with a festive table.

First we will cook potatoes and carrots. We will wash them, put them together with the eggs in cold water and put them on the stove. We cook the eggs for 8-10 minutes, and then, putting them in a bowl, pour cold water – so that they are cleaned without problems. Cook the vegetables until tender. And we will determine it by how easily, with difficulty, a fork or a knife pierces vegetables.

Let the ready-made vegetables and eggs cool down, and then immediately peel them. And now it's the turn for the sausage. It is desirable that it was boiled sausage, even better – "Doctor's". Be sure to remove the shell from it and cut into pieces 8-10 millimeters in size. We'll put all this in a salad bowl.

To make the salad look beautiful, you need to cut the eggs into small pieces too - 7-10 millimeters. Let's pour them out there, to the sausage. Cubes of boiled carrots and peeled potatoes should be the same size. When we cut the vegetables, put the whole mass in a cup with the rest of the ingredients.

Surely you have prepared pickles for the winter. We will open a jar, and if the cucumbers are large, then 3-4 pieces will be enough, and if they are small, then a half–liter jar By the way, cucumbers can be both pickled and fresh. They also need to be cut into small pieces, adding to the salad bowl.

Well, the last component is canned peas. I think that every housewife knows that it is necessary to drain the liquid from it. After that, we add it to the winter salad.

The salad already has an appetizing appearance. And what flavor does it have?! The whole house, especially in winter, can smell fresh or salted cucumber, fresh sausage smells great. After dressing the salad with mayonnaise, mix it and serve it on the table.

By the way, in the salad, instead of some components, you can add other ingredients. Instead of pickled cucumbers, you can cut salted ones, and instead of sausage, for example, crab sticks.
