Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 35 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to bake salmon in foil? Wash the salmon fillets on the skin and dry them with paper towels to remove excess moisture. If your fish is frozen, defrost it on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator overnight.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Cover the baking dish with a suitable-sized piece of foil with closing allowances. Remember the rule: the shiny side is inside, the matte side is outside. I have a ceramic mold with a high rim. Wash the lemon and lime under running water and cut into thin rings. Spread the citrus fruits evenly on the foil and sprinkle with salt.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Put the fish skin down in a mold on top of the citrus fruits. Add salt and pepper to taste.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

For the marinade, melt the butter in any way you like. I did it in the microwave. Add liquid honey.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

In the marinade, grate the garlic on a fine grater. Do not overdo it with garlic, so that it only complements, and does not clog the taste of noble fish.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Pour marinade over the fish. It is convenient to do it with a tablespoon.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

On top, I decorated the fish with lime slices at my own risk. Why can't I recommend this step necessarily? Not always, but it often happens that citrus fruits are bitter. And if it is not critical from below, under the salmon (because of the skin), then if the bitterness is at the top, then it will definitely be transmitted to the whole piece. I was lucky and lime wasn't bitter, but if you don't want to risk expensive fish, just don't put citrus on top.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Wrap the foil up and pinch the edges. If it doesn't work out hermetically, it's okay. Bake the salmon for 20 minutes in a preheated 180 °C oven. 5 minutes before cooking, turn on the grill mode.

This recipe is suitable for those who have nothing against baking in aluminum foil.

Salmon and citrus are always delicious. But it is important not to overdo the fish in the oven. After all, even such oily fish as salmon can be over-dried.

Serve hot with young white wine.

Bon appetit!

For this recipe, it is better to take not frozen, but fresh fish, otherwise the finished fish risks getting dry.
