Few people know that pumpkin can be cooked not only delicious porridge or dessert, but also a great side dish for such food as fried meat or poultry, meat patties. I cook a side dish of pumpkin mainly in autumn, when there is a pumpkin at home, brought from our dacha. For those who are interested in this culinary recipe, I tell you about it.

We start by peeling the pumpkin, taking out the seeds and cutting them into thin plates. Now the bacon pieces are fried without oil in a frying pan on both sides. After that, remove the bacon and leave to cool. Fat has formed in the frying pan after the bacon, on which we stew the prepared pumpkin and onion cut into thin rings for 10 minutes. After this time, add dill, salt and pepper to taste, sour cream to the pan, mix everything and simmer for another couple of minutes. After that, we put the ready-made side dish on plates and sprinkle all the portions with finely chopped bacon.
