Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 1 h 10 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to make classic bolognese pasta? Prepare the products. I took spaghetti, but you can take absolutely any pasta, as long as they are from durum wheat. Minced meat is suitable from any meat, I have a mixture of beef and pork. Pasta with minced beef will be lower in calories, with minced chicken – lighter and also not very high in calories. You can cook the minced meat yourself or use it ready-made.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Prepare the meat sauce. How to make sauce? Wash and peel the carrots and onions. Grate the carrots on a coarse grater, you can cut them into cubes. Finely chop the onion as well.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

In a frying pan over medium heat, heat any vegetable oil for frying. Add the chopped onion and carrot. With constant stirring, fry them until transparent, about 5 minutes. Add the cooled or defrosted minced meat and salt. Mix well, breaking up large lumps of minced meat. Fry the minced meat with vegetables for about 15 minutes on low heat, stirring occasionally.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Remove the skin from the tomatoes. To do this, make a criss-cross incision on each and pour boiling water for 2 minutes. then transfer them to cold water. From a sharp temperature drop, the skin will be easily and quickly removed with a sharp knife. Finely chop the peeled tomatoes. Send them to the frying pan for vegetable frying with minced meat.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Add tomato paste and spices to the same place: dried basil and parsley (in summer you can use fresh herbs, it will turn out even tastier), ground black pepper. Mix well. Pour in a glass of boiled clean water, mix again. Reduce the heat to low and simmer the sauce for about 25 minutes. Peel and chop the garlic, add it to the pan with the sauce. Simmer for about 5 more minutes.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Cook the pasta. How to cook pasta? Bring salted water to a boil in a saucepan, throw spaghetti into it. Cook them until al dente (when they remain slightly firm) according to the time indicated on the package. Drain the water. In a pan with spaghetti, add a little vegetable (ideally olive) oil, mix so that the pasta does not stick together. Put the pasta on a plate and the bolognese sauce on it. You can add grated cheese and herbs.

For cooking, it is better to use filtered or bottled water that is neutral to taste. If you use tap water, keep in mind that it can give the dish an unpleasant characteristic taste.

Tomato paste in this recipe can be replaced with tomatoes in their own juice, fresh tomatoes or ketchup.
