Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 20 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to make Chinese sweet and sour sauce with pineapples? Very fast and easy! First, prepare the necessary ingredients. Drain the syrup from a can of canned pineapples. Instead of table vinegar, you can take rice, apple, grape or replace vinegar with lemon juice. The amount of vinegar and the acid of the sauce can be adjusted to your liking.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Combine ketchup, soy sauce, half pineapple syrup, vinegar and sugar in a saucepan. Put a saucepan on the stove over low heat and, stirring, bring the mixture to a boil.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

In the remaining pineapple syrup, dilute the starch, breaking up all the lumps. Pineapple syrup can be replaced with pineapple juice if desired.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

If you have canned pineapple rings, cut them into small pieces. I had already sliced pineapples, which did not need to be further crushed. Only some of the larger pieces I cut in half.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Add the sliced pineapple pieces and warm everything together for 1 minute.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Constantly stirring, pour starch diluted in pineapple syrup into a saucepan in a thin stream. The sauce will immediately begin to thicken. Bring the sauce to a boil again and cook, stirring, for 30 seconds. The sauce turns out to be quite viscous, but fluid. You can adjust the amount and consistency of the sauce to your liking, if necessary, boiling it to the desired density or, conversely, diluting it with pineapple syrup or pineapple juice.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

The sauce is ready. It can be served with meat, fish or poultry in a chilled or warm form. Enjoy your meal!

Vinegar in recipes, unless otherwise specified by the author, is added by default at a concentration of 9%.

You can replace ketchup with tomato paste.

Since the degree of salinity, sweetness, bitterness, sharpness, acid, burning is individual for everyone, always add spices, spices and seasonings, focusing on your taste! If you put some of the seasonings for the first time, then keep in mind that there are spices that it is especially important not to shift (for example, chili pepper).
