1. Remove the upper leaves from the cabbage, chop it thinly. Peel the carrots, grate them on a coarse grater. We combine cabbage and carrots in a large bowl, rub them with our hands so that the vegetables let the juice.

2. In a clean three-liter jar, pour a third of sugar, salt, a couple of peas of pepper, add a bay leaf and an aspirin tablet.

3. Fill the jar with cabbage and carrots to half, also sprinkle with spices, add aspirin, continue to fill the jar to the top, tamp it tightly, pour the remaining sugar, salt, pepper peas, bay leaf and aspirin tablet.

4. Pour boiling water, roll up hermetically. We turn the workpiece over, let it cool completely, after which we send it to a permanent storage place in the cellar or basement.
