Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 15 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to make a shrimp canape? Prepare the products. Shrimp are usually sold already boiled. It is enough to defrost and clean them. Or you can put them frozen in boiling water for a couple of minutes. Clean the finished shrimp from the shell, tail and insides. Medium-sized shrimp are suitable for snacks, since canapes should be small, for one bite.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Option number one. This is the most common combination of canapes with shrimp: with fresh cucumber. As a sauce here I take ready-made with herbs and cucumbers, but you can make the sauce yourself by mixing chopped fresh herbs with mayonnaise and adding a little lemon juice. Assemble the canapes — sliced cucumber, sauce, shrimp. Also, a variation with such a set allows the use of bread — bread, sauce, cucumber, sauce, shrimp.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Option number two. It turns out very tasty and original. For the basis of such canapes, take a salty cracker. Fresh dill greens can be finely chopped, or you can decorate with whole small twigs. Sprinkle the cracker generously with cream cheese (in general, the amount and thickness of the ingredients are completely to your taste), sprinkle with chopped dill greens and put one or two shrimps peeled.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Option three. Here you will need special skewers for canapes. I will use bran bread, but you can take plain white bread, toast bread or baguette. Use the canapé molds (or a knife) to cut it into small pieces. Wash the tomatoes and cut them in half so that the stalk is at the bottom. Spread cream cheese on the bread, put half a tomato, cheese again, half a tomato. Secure everything with a skewer and garnish with shrimp.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Put the finished canapes on a dish or stand, from which it will be convenient to take them. Serve chilled. Enjoy your meal!

Canapes (fr. canapé) are small sandwiches made of croutons with different fillings of meat, fish, vegetables, impaled on skewers (atle), which can be sent to the mouth whole without biting off a piece. Initially, skewers were used rather not because of the desire to decorate the dish, but because of the convenience of serving on the table. Since most of the pieces of toasted bread were covered with a layer of pate, the skewer allowed you to eat the treat without getting your fingers dirty. Canapes are a festive treat, most often a buffet. If canapes are served with cocktails or at a buffet, they are taken by hand.

Choose juicy tomatoes, but dense. Soft fruits do not keep their shape well, in the process of slicing and cooking they will spread into a shapeless mass and spoil the appearance of the dish.

The skin, if it is not rough, not damaged and not bitter, does not need to be cut off.
