Watermelon peel marmalade

Homemade dessert - delicious and very healthy! Watermelon peel marmalade will delight adults and children. This delicacy differs from store-bought sweets in that it does not contain any harmful dyes and preservatives, it is absolutely safe for health. Just a couple of pieces - and a good mood is guaranteed!

Cooking method

Cooking time: 22 h

1. Peel the watermelon crusts from the green skin, cut into small cubes, put them in a saucepan.

2. Fill the prepared crusts with water, add soda, mix, leave for 6 hours.

3. After the specified time, drain the water, wash the watermelon rinds thoroughly under running water.

4. Re-fill the crusts with water so that it almost covers them, pour some sugar (500 grams).

5. We send the pan to the fire, cook the crusts on low heat for 20 minutes from the moment of boiling, then cool, leaving for 6 hours at room temperature.

6. Then repeat the cooking procedure for the second time and also cool for 6 hours.

7. For the third time, pour the same amount of sugar to the crusts, add vanilla sugar and cardamom, squeeze the juice from the lemon, cook until transparent.

8. We throw the watermelon crusts on a sieve, let the liquid drain, then roll in the remaining sugar and let it dry on a baking sheet. 

It turned out to be an excellent treat!
