I always knew that bread is baked, but I learned about the fact that there is also delicious fried bread quite recently when I watched on TV one of the many programs devoted to cooking and other home economics. The recipe turned out to be quite simple and I immediately fried this bread and was very pleased with it. I mix flour with salt and baking powder in a small saucepan. In a separate enameled vessel, I combine vegetable oil with water. From dry and liquid mixtures, I knead the dough, which I divide into a dozen balls, each of which I flatten into a pancake-shaped cake. I divide a hole in the middle of each of these pancake cakes. In a small frying pan, I fry each tortilla on each side in pork fat for just a few moments. And so each one separately. Then I spread the bread on a clean napkin and while they are still warm, sprinkle them with powdered sugar. Fried bread is usually served with jam or May honey, but you can just crunch it, like your favorite doughnuts from early childhood. Pork fat is successfully replaced by chicken fat. This wonderful food is prepared in less than half an hour in total, but it is eaten much, much faster.
