How to make a salad of boiled cod with potatoes, egg and onion?

1. Chop the cod and cook. Put the pan with the fish on the fire and bring to a boil. Then remove the formed foam with a slotted spoon. Add salt, bay leaf and pepper. Cook the fish for about 15-20 minutes over low heat with the lid closed.

2. Peel and wash the vegetables. In a small saucepan, boil water, put the potatoes and cook them until tender (but do not overcook!). Drain the water and cool the potatoes. Cut the potatoes into small pieces or grate on a coarse grater. Cut the peeled onion into thin half rings.

3. Boil hard-boiled eggs. Then cool them by dropping them into cold water. Cut the eggs into small cubes.

4. Grate the cheese on a coarse grater.

5. Remove the cooked fish from the broth (it can be used to prepare another dish) and cool. Separate the cod fillet from the bones and cut it into small pieces.

6. In a large bowl, combine all the salad ingredients: potatoes, eggs, onions, cheese and fish. Mix everything well.

7. In a separate bowl, mix the salad sauce - sour cream and mayonnaise in equal proportions and season the salad with the resulting sauce. Mix everything well. Taste it and, if necessary, season the salad with salt.

8. Carefully put the salad through the molding ring (or in any other way) on beautiful plates. Ready-made salad of boiled cod with potatoes, egg and onion, decorate with figuratively cut carrots and sprigs of parsley. Large olives (pitted) cut lengthwise into circles and put them on the edge of the salad.

Bon appetit!

How to properly cut a whole fish into fillets? Remove the tail, head and fins. Cut the carcass along the spine to the spine. Turn it on its side. With a sharp knife, cut the meat from the backbone bone. Turn the carcass over and cut the fillet from the other side. Clean the inside by removing the black film, as it is bitter and will spoil the taste. Rinse and be sure to dry well.

It is better to prepare mayonnaise yourself. It will be tastier and healthier. See here interesting recipes for homemade mayonnaise.
Also, as a dressing, you can use not only mayonnaise, but also sour cream or natural yogurt. They can be taken separately or mixed with mayonnaise in any proportion to your taste - this will reduce the calorie content of the dish.
