Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 15 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

We prepare the necessary products according to the list. How to buy crab sticks correctly? Be sure to pay attention to the expiration date of the product. Surimi meat (minced white fish) should appear in the list of ingredients in the first place. Important! Do not buy the product if there is frost on it. This is a sign of repeated freezing. Fresh sticks should be free of gray and yellow spots, elastic and slightly moist. If the product is sticky, it means it is spoiled.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Choose juicy tomatoes, but dense. Soft fruits do not keep their shape well. If you're using a cocktail variety, just cut them in half. Cut large tomatoes into small cubes or strips. The juice formed from slicing must be drained, it will give the salad extra liquid. If the tomato skin is too thick, it is better to remove it. To do this, dip the tomatoes in hot water for a few seconds. From above, make criss-cross incisions with a knife. Remove the skin.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Defrost frozen crab sticks in advance. Without removing the packaging, put them on a cutting board, let them thaw. Now remove the film. If it unwinds badly, hold the sticks over the steam for 1-3 seconds. Now cut them into medium-sized rings.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Peel the garlic cloves, pass them through a press or cut them as small as possible with a knife. Adjust the amount of garlic to your liking. Mix with mayonnaise in a separate bowl.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Combine crab sticks and tomatoes in a large salad bowl. Season with mayonnaise. Add salt and pepper to taste. Mix gently. Prepare the cremans in advance. They should be washed and dried well. Arrange the salad. Garnish with a sprig of dill, parsley, cilantro or basil leaves. Salad can be served in a common salad bowl, but in serving containers the dish will look more spectacular and more festive.

The salad turned out colorful and appetizing. It tastes soft, juicy and rich. The ingredients are perfectly combined with each other. The recipe will help out when the guests are already on the doorstep. A long time ago I made a similar salad, but I also added mozzarella. This time I decided to make a simplified version. It turned out just as delicious!

Mayonnaise can be replaced with sour cream or natural unsweetened yogurt. Or prepare the mayonnaise yourself. Recipes for making homemade mayonnaise you will find here.
