Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 40 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to make soup with meatballs in a slow cooker? Prepare the necessary ingredients. Vegetables - carrots, onions, potatoes - I take medium-sized. Vermicelli can optionally be replaced with small pasta or rice. My minced meat is homemade pork/chicken. If the minced meat is frozen, then pre-defrost. Vegetable oil will be needed for passivation of vegetables, you can refuse this in preparation. The greens are fresh, I take dill.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Pour vegetable oil into the bowl of the slow cooker and turn on the "Frying" mode. Chop the peeled carrots and onions: chop the onion, grate the carrots on a coarse grater. Fry the vegetables in oil until golden brown. Turn off the "Frying" mode.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Wash the potatoes, peel and cut into cubes. Add to the onions and carrots and mix everything together. If you decide to do without frying vegetables, then put the prepared vegetables - onions, carrots, potatoes - immediately into the bowl of a slow cooker.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Pour 1.5 liters of hot water over the vegetables. Close the lid and turn on the Soup mode for 20 minutes.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

I have minced meat with onions in the composition, if minced meat without onions, then you can finely chop and add, also for softness, you can add an egg, breadcrumbs to the minced meat (this is optional). With wet hands, plucking small pieces from the minced meat, roll the meatballs. The size of the meatballs is according to your own taste and wishes.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

After 20 minutes, add the meatballs to the soup and add salt. Close the multivark with a lid and continue cooking in the "Soup" mode for another 10 minutes.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Add the vermicelli to the soup, stir, add salt if necessary. You can add other favorite spices. Cook the soup for another 5 minutes.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

After five minutes, turn off the slow cooker. Rinse fresh dill greens under running water, shake off excess liquid and chop. Add the chopped dill greens to the soup, close the lid and let the soup stand for a few more minutes.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

Serve the soup with meatballs hot, offering fresh herbs and fresh bread. This soup is also suitable for the children's menu.

Important! Regardless of whether the amount of water for soup is indicated in the recipe or not, it is best to focus on your own preferences (thick or more liquid soup you like), as well as on the size of your pan and the products taken for cooking. Do not forget that the author has his own view on the amount of meat, potatoes, cereals and other ingredients in the soup, which may not coincide with yours.  In practice, this means that if you are cooking for the first time, you should not cook a whole pot at once. Make a soup for tasting - for one or two people. To do this, reduce the amount of all ingredients according to the recipe to 1-2 servings, and take the amount of water from the calculation: from one cup per serving - if the soup is very thick, to 1.5-2 cups - if more liquid. Do not forget to take into account that part of the liquid will boil off during the cooking process. After tasting a small portion of soup, you can adjust both the amount of liquid and the proportions of ingredients to your taste. In the future, like most experienced housewives, you will be able to pour water for soup and lay the ingredients “by eye".

Keep in mind that the cooking time and mode are indicated approximately in the recipe. All slow cookers work differently and even the same models of the same manufacturer may have their own characteristics. Before you start cooking a new dish for you in a slow cooker, carefully study the instructions for it, and then in practice try to cook dishes that are familiar to you first, and then new ones, choosing the mode and time individually for your own technique.
