Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 15 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to make oranges with cinnamon? Prepare the products. For this dessert, "unsuccessful" oranges are perfect - sour, small, slightly wilted. I prefer to take cane sugar for this kind of desserts - it gives the dish a pronounced caramel taste. But you take any one. You can change the amount of cinnamon at your discretion.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Wash the oranges thoroughly under running water, preferably with soda - fruits are usually treated with wax so that they do not spoil longer. Although we do not need the peel, when slicing, part of the substance may get on the product. Now slice the orange. I preferred slicing thin slices, but you can make them larger. Or you can peel an orange first, and then cut it into slices. But it's easier to cut with the peel.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Now peel each slice (if you haven't peeled the orange beforehand). Do this over a plate, we will need all the juice that will drip from the orange.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Peel all the orange slices in this way. Then you can cut them into halves or quarters, so it will be more convenient to eat them. I left them whole. Transfer the slices to a dish in one layer.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Squeeze the juice out of the lemon, remove the bones and measure 2 tablespoons of juice. Now we need to get orange juice. Use the juice that was released when cleaning the lobules. And also squeeze it out of ugly lobules and tops. We need the same amount of orange juice as lemon juice - 2 tablespoons.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Mix sugar, cinnamon and both types of juice in a separate bowl. Mix well and let it stand for a while so that the sugar crystals completely dissolve.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Pour the orange slices with the resulting mixture. Spoon the juice well over all the pieces. Let the dessert stand for a while so that the orange absorbs all the flavors, and serve it to the table.

At first I was skeptical about the recipe - is it so simple, will it be delicious? But the cinnamon dressing really saved the sour oranges! They ate everything without a trace.
Grapefruit can be served in the same way.
Instead of lemon juice, you can take lime juice.
