Porridge mulch of barley and potatoes on water

An interesting and delicious recipe for unsweetened porridge of Estonian origin! Such an interesting porridge "mulgi" from cereals and potatoes is a culinary recipe of Estonian cuisine. If you haven't tried it yet, be sure to try to cook it, you will definitely like it. The only correction I made to this recipe was to replace the fat with vegetable oil. But this is because I generally do not treat fat very well, I prefer to replace it with vegetable oil wherever possible. Yes, barley groats can be replaced with barley flour here, there is no difference.

Cut fresh potatoes into small cubes and send them to boil in boiling salted water. When the potatoes become slightly soft, pour in the well-washed grits and continue to cook, turning down the heat. The pan can be covered with a lid. When everything is cooked, we begin to mix everything thoroughly with a long wooden spatula. We should get a homogeneous mass. If desired, the finished food can be seasoned with fried bacon and fried onions. During serving, the porridge "mulgi" can be poured with yogurt or seasoned with sour cream. Or you can make a sauce from fried bacon and pour this sauce over the porridge.
