Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 1 h
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to make strawberry jam? Prepare the necessary ingredients for this. Choose fresh strawberries, without damage. I prefer a small size, so that they do not have to be cut into several parts.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Fill the berries with plenty of water, rinse well and catch them. I recommend throwing it into a colander, since the sand is washed off from the berries and sinks to the bottom of the bowl, and the berries remain on the surface of the water. If everything is thrown into a colander, then all the sand will be on the berries again. Therefore, I catch the berries with my hands and put them in a colander to drain the excess water.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Remove the stem from the washed berries and place them in the bowl.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Mix half the sugar, citric acid and a couple of pinches of salt.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Fill the berries with this mixture and sprinkle with alcohol. Leave the berries to stand for a few hours so that they let the juice. I usually leave it overnight.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

A sufficient amount of juice has appeared from the berries.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Put everything in a cooking bowl and put it on the fire. Add the remaining sugar. If the berries are sweet, then you can add a little less sugar.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Bring the berries to a boil. Stir until the sugar dissolves. Make a minimum heat and cook the berries for 25-40 minutes. Stir so that a lot of foam does not form.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

During cooking, the whole mass will thicken. Remove from heat and cool. During cooling, the entire foam will settle down and the confiture will become a uniform saturated color.

  10. Step 10:

    Step 10.

Prepare the jars. Wash them well and sterilize them in any convenient way. This can be done in the oven, in the microwave or over hot steam. Cover the lids with boiling water.

  11. Step 11:

    Step 11.

Warm confiture can be decomposed into prepared jars and closed with lids.

  12. Step 12:

    Step 12.

Confiture turns out very beautiful, delicious and fragrant! Put the jars away for storage in a cool place. Have a nice treat!
