Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 2 hours
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

Let's take the products listed in the ingredients - the beginning is there! Next, I will try to explain to you in detail how to cook pea soup in meat broth in Finnish, so that everything works out for you.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Pour the peas into a small saucepan or deep bowl and thoroughly rinse it in several waters until transparent. After that, fill it with boiled warm water and leave it overnight.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

In the morning we boil smoked ribs and beef. To do this, pour 2 liters of cold water into a saucepan (so that there is a broth) and add salt to it. We lay some ribs first, let the broth boil, remove the foam and cook the ribs for 30 minutes. After that, we lay the beef, bring it to a boil again and remove the foam so that the broth turns transparent. Cook the ribs and meat until cooked for an hour.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Remove the ready-made ribs and meat from the broth, let it cool and finely chop the meat cut from the ribs and beef. In the pan, instead of them, add the washed peas, which we soaked overnight. We bring all this to a boil, and cook for an hour and a half with stirring so that the peas do not burn.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

We make frying from onions and carrots. Onions are cleaned and crushed, carrots are cleaned and grated on a coarse grater. Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan. Fry the carrots first for 2 minutes while stirring, then add the onion and fry everything together over moderate heat for 5 minutes, do not forget to stir. You can add a tablespoon of flour to the roast.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Peel the potatoes, wash them and cut them into medium-sized cubes.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Add the potatoes to the pot with the peas, which will become soft by then. We added salt at the beginning of cooking to salt the meat, so try the broth with salt, if necessary, add more. Also add seasonings to taste. Let the soup boil, then return the chopped meat to the pan, mix everything and cook the soup until the potatoes are ready - this is about 10-15 minutes.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Fresh dill or parsley greens are good for this dish - I wash it and finely chop it. Turn off the finished soup and sprinkle with herbs.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

    Bon appetit!

This soup can be served with crackers to the table, and it is also recommended to add to it, if desired, any spices that you may not have enough in the dish: mustard, black pepper, marjoram, etc.
