Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 40 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to make a salad with carrots, crab sticks and egg? Prepare the products. Choose crab sticks of good quality so that the taste of the finished dish does not disappoint you. Pre-defrost them, peel them from the film and cut into medium cubes.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Boil eggs and carrots. Boil the eggs for 10 minutes, then cool them in cold water so that they are easily cleaned. Cook the carrots for 30 minutes, check the readiness with a knife — it should easily pierce the fruit. By the beginning of the salad preparation, the products should cool down.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Peel the eggs and cut into cubes of the same size as the crab sticks. Peel the carrots and also cut into cubes identical in size with eggs and crab sticks. Purely for aesthetic reasons — it will not affect the taste of the salad in any way. To grind eggs and carrots, I used a round strainer with square divisions — it's fast, and the cubes are all the same in size and shape.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Now that all the ingredients are ready, assemble the salad. It will take exactly one minute. Transfer the eggs, crab sticks, carrots and canned corn to a deep bowl or other suitable dish. Pre-fold it on a sieve so that the excess liquid flows.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Add salt to taste and mayonnaise. Mix everything thoroughly and try again with salt to adjust its amount if necessary. The taste of the salad will also depend on the corn, so choose juicy and sweet. Mayonnaise also happens to be different — take the one you personally tested and delicious. The salad is ready. Garnish it with herbs and serve it to the table. Enjoy your meal!

It is better to serve the salad and eat it right away, it does not need to be soaked — it is much tastier fresh. Instead of mayonnaise, you can use sour cream.

It is better to prepare mayonnaise yourself. It will be tastier and healthier. See the interesting ones here recipes for homemade mayonnaise.
Also, as a dressing, you can use not only mayonnaise, but also sour cream or natural yogurt. They can be taken separately or mixed with mayonnaise in any proportion to your taste - this will reduce the calorie content of the dish.

How to buy crab sticks correctly? Be sure to pay attention to the expiration date of the product. Surimi meat (minced white fish) should appear in the list of ingredients in the first place. Important! Do not buy the product if there is frost on it. This is a sign of repeated freezing. Fresh sticks should be free of gray and yellow spots, elastic and slightly moist. If the product is sticky, it means it is spoiled.

How to buy canned corn correctly? Be sure to check the expiration date on the jar. If the container is glass, carefully consider the grains. They should be the same size and color, solid and spotless. The composition should not contain dyes, preservatives and flavor enhancers.
