Cranberry tincture on moonshine

A drink that needs no introduction. Absolutely natural sweet and sour alcoholic drink on homemade moonshine. Taste and benefit in every glass! It is served chilled. And, to my taste, the tincture is especially good in combination with game.

Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 14 d
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

It is believed that frozen cranberries are best suited for infusing. It must be thawed beforehand. Then pour the cranberries into a colander and rinse under running water. If cranberries initially contain a lot of plant debris (twigs or leaves), it will be better to sort it out beforehand. The water should drain.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

With the help of a pestle from a mortar, or a pusher for making mashed potatoes, it is necessary to mash each berry so that the cranberries give their juice to the drink better. Be careful, cranberries are a very juicy berry, you can inadvertently get dirty with its juice.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Put the cranberries in a tall decanter, in which it is supposed to prepare the tincture.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Pour granulated sugar into the carafe.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Pour purified double distilled moonshine into a decanter for cranberries, with a strength of forty, ideally forty-five degrees. Shake the drink so that the sugar is slightly dispersed.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Cover the decanter with a paper towel folded several times and tie the neck tightly with twine or an elastic band. Leave the tincture in a cool place for two weeks. After that, filter the tincture through a filter of gauze or cotton wool and be sure to squeeze out the cake. Serve chilled.

This time I had a large garden cranberry, but I also made a tincture with a small berry according to this recipe. The taste is absolutely identical.
Cranberries, due to their natural qualities, perfectly soften alcoholic beverages. Including moonshine. Therefore, the drink, tuned to cranberries, has a wonderful, balanced taste and velvety.
In order not to filter the drink before use, cranberries can not be pounded with a pestle, but pierce each berry with a thick needle or awl. So the drink will be almost transparent. But I don't have enough patience for this.
The tincture is drunk chilled easily and naturally. But do not forget that excessive alcohol consumption negatively affects your health and the health of others.
Have a pleasant tasting!
