Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 1 d
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

Prepare all the ingredients. The main ingredients here are of course berries and sugar. Cranberry - berry is not very clean, leaves and debris often come across when collecting, so it needs to be well washed and sorted. Any sugar is suitable, - I took ordinary white sugar, but you can also take brown sugar, - this sugar will give the finished jam a light caramel taste and aroma!

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Pick the berries, remove the burst berries and debris, rinse well and dry.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Choose the dishes where you will make jam. It is best to take dishes with a thick bottom and high sides, so that the jam does not burn and does not run away. Put the berries in a saucepan and cover with sugar.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Wait until the berries give juice. This may take from 2 hours to 1 day. Do not add water in any case - the juice will be quite enough.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Put a saucepan with berries on the fire and bring to a boil. I'm cooking classic cranberry jam, but of course it can be varied. For example, to flavor with cinnamon and cloves - add a stick of cinnamon and a bud of cloves, and at the very end do not forget to get out of the finished jam. Or use these spices in a ground form. Just one pinch will be enough. And you can add a spoonful of cocoa powder - you will get a jam with a chocolate flavor

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Turn down the heat and cook for 40 minutes, constantly removing the foam that will appear on the surface.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Remove the jam from the heat and leave to cool completely. Of course, you can immediately put the jam in jars, but then it will turn out more liquid.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Wash the jars well and sterilize: I just pour boiling water into the jars, putting a spoon in there. But you can sterilize the jars in the microwave or in the oven. The lids must be boiled. In addition, I never use the lids a second time, i.e. I close the jars with new lids every time.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

Arrange the jam into jars and close the lids. You can store such jam in normal room conditions.

  10. Step 10:

    Step 10.

    Have a nice tea party!
