Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 30 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

How to make salmon sandwiches for a festive table? Very easy. Start by making pesto sauce. You can save time and take a ready-made store-bought pesto. Basil for sauce is suitable for ordinary with large leaves or bushy with small leaves, like mine. Traditionally, pesto is made on the basis of olive oil, but you can take any to taste.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Put the washed basil, olive oil, garlic clove, salt and pepper in the blender bowl. Whisk everything together until smooth.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Now prepare all the other ingredients for the sandwiches. White wheat bread can be replaced with bran or some other to taste. Lightly salted salmon can be replaced with other red fish, lightly salted or smoked. Butter should be at room temperature, so take it out of the refrigerator in advance.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Cut the salmon into thin slices. I took already sliced fish, which saved me time. If you use a whole piece of salted fish, then for the convenience of slicing it is better to freeze it beforehand.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Cut tomatoes in half and cut into thin slices. Choose juicy tomatoes, but dense. Soft fruits do not keep their shape well, in the process of slicing they will spread into a shapeless mass and spoil the appearance of the dish.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Cut the mozzarella ball into thin slices. Mozzarella comes in two types - for pizza and brine. For sandwiches, brine mozzarella is needed, which I previously removed from the brine and dried.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Spread slices of bread with a thin layer of soft butter at room temperature.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Put a slice of lightly salted fish on one side of the bread slice.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

On the other side, place a slice of mozzarella next to the fish.

  10. Step 10:

    Step 10.

Lay the tomato slices on the cheese.

  11. Step 11:

    Step 11.

Put a little pesto sauce on the sandwiches.

  12. Step 12:

    Step 12.

Decorate the top with sesame seeds and fresh basil. I used black sesame - it looks very impressive on white cheese. Immediately serve the appetizer to the table. Bon appetit!

You can replace mozzarella with another soft cheese: feta, Adyghe, cottage cheese.
