Step-by-step cooking

Cooking time: 10 min
  1. Step 1:

    Step 1.

The main ingredient for making strawberry salsa is strawberries. Take the berry ripe and juicy. Prepare the rest of the ingredients. Instead of lemon, you can use lime.

  2. Step 2:

    Step 2.

Peel the strawberries from the tails and wash them in cold water.

  3. Step 3:

    Step 3.

Take out the berries on a paper napkin and dry them to get rid of excess moisture.

  4. Step 4:

    Step 4.

Wash the fragrant herbs just as well. Initially, for strawberry salsa, it is recommended to use several mint leaves, or fresh cilantro, or basil. You can also combine all the herbs together to taste. This time I used fresh basil, mint, lemon thyme and a few feathers of chives. Put the greens on a napkin and dry them as well.

  5. Step 5:

    Step 5.

Cut the strawberries into pieces. The size depends on how big your berry is. If it is small, then it will be enough to cut it in half. Cut the middle berry into four parts, and chop the larger fruits into cubes. Send the pieces to the salad bowl.

  6. Step 6:

    Step 6.

Chop the red onion as finely as possible. You can use shallots or white salad onions.

  7. Step 7:

    Step 7.

Next comes the turn of greenery. Cut it as small as possible and send it to the strawberries.

  8. Step 8:

    Step 8.

Add a pinch of ground coriander to the salad bowl (you can take the grains and grind them with a pestle and mortar, so it will turn out even more fragrant). Add chili pepper to taste (take fresh or dry), add a little salt and sugar salsa. The amount of sugar depends on how sweet your berry is. It is better to use brown sugar, but ordinary sugar will do too.

  9. Step 9:

    Step 9.

Sprinkle the salsa with lemon or lime juice and add olive oil. Mix the strawberry salad well, taste it and add the missing component. Send the salsa to the refrigerator to cool and brew for a while.

  10. Step 10:

    Step 10.

Mix everything again before serving. If desired, sprinkle with ground allspice and pour balsamic sauce. Strawberry salsa is ready!

Strawberry salsa recipe I first saw a few years ago on the Internet.

Since I really like non-standard combinations, I immediately decided to repeat and try. The result exceeded all expectations! I really liked salsa and when the strawberry season starts, I definitely cook it for steaks or chicken!

If you like the combination of salty, sweet, spicy, spicy in one dish and you are a fan of experiments, then be sure to try strawberry salsa!

Bon appetit!
