    Wash the cabbage, free it from the upper leaves and cut it into four parts. One fourth of a cabbage head (1-1.5 kg) is just right for a salad by weight. Finely chop the cabbage, put it in a prepared salad bowl, add salt and knead it with your hands to let the juice flow.
